THERE IS A PLETHORA OF THOUGHTS ENTANGLING ME AT THIS MOMENT. I report back to work to prepare for the school year on the 13th and I've got mountains to conquer to make it a successful year. Michel and I have a semi-non-functional car and we're thinking of ways to putt along. I'm leading a mission team from our church to Nicaragua this coming December and have an approaching meeting to prepare for. And loads of other things to prepare for regarding that trip. Yeesh. I'm too excited about returning to Nicaragua that I'm stumped on the administrative side of things. I would love to work through a cohesive design for this spare room/office I'm sitting in currently. I'd also love to move away from Texas for a few days so I don't sweat as much.
Among those thoughts lingers this urge to blog about Spanish. About teaching it, studying it, pursuing it, using it. About mapping out life with not one but TWO beautiful languages at my grasp and bringing glory and witness to the Creator who gave me the breath to speak those languages. Words are so full and so rich and so empowering and so edifying and yet we use them so destructively, or we use them without regard for their ultimate purpose. I've nurtured language learning for so long and so in depth that I often forgot along the way to regurgitate my words back into the atmosphere to magnify the Lord. And so I am here, wrestling with urges to demonstrate to you every grammar lesson I can think of to weave a conversation into being as well as bouts of idea spasms trying to navigate this new blogging world and its intentions.
Above all I am happy to be here, letting words flow and giving initial breaths to a blog that I hope brings awareness to the beauty of languages, and the ways we construct them, and ultimately why we construct them. I can't promise a post per day, but I should promise genuine effort to birth unto you a two-tongued, on-the-go recipe for the language learning process.
BECAUSE YOUR LOVE IS BETTER THAN LIFE, MY LIPS WILL GLORIFY YOU. {Psalm 63:3}
Happy sojourn, mis amigos!
